Are your roads “Back to School” ready?
As thousands of children across the country begin their new academic year, taking steps to improve road safety is imperative.
The current statistics are a difficult read:
- Every month, 1,200 children are injured in traffic related collisions that take place within 500m of a school – ROSPA
- The largest numbers of child pedestrian injuries occur between 8am to 9am and between 3pm to 7pm. During these times, there are approximately 16 deaths or serious injuries to children aged 16 and under every week – Public Health England
- Around 5,000 children under the age of 16 die or are seriously injured on Britain’s roads each year – The AA
We can help change these!
Traffic safety products for school areas
We design and manufacture a range of school patrol products and pedestrian crossing beacons that aim to raise awareness of school routes and increase drivers’ visibility of crossings. Our high quality products help keep thousands of pupils safe as they make their way to and from school throughout the academic year.
Here are just a few examples of how our traffic safety products are being used to help keep children safe:
- As such a vulnerable area of our roads, Lancashire County Council understood the importance of ensuring school crossings were made highly visible to all drivers – Smart Pulsa Keeps School Roads Safe In Lancashire
- We helped a school safety campaigner who was seeking a safety solution outside a school in South West London, which is located on a very busy trunk road – Smart Pulsa Installed Outside North Sheen School In London
- One of our most memorable projects is that of our solar-powered Belisha beacon installation at St Richard’s Primary School in Richmond South West London. Our purpose with this crossing is to improve the teaching of road safety, educate children and prepare them for independent travel – Solar Powered Belisha Beacon Improves Teaching Of Road Safety
Are you confident that your roads are “Back to school” ready, and suitably equipped to increase awareness and visibility of such vulnerable areas?
