On 31st October 2019, Simmonsigns will be attending the HEA Annual Conference & Exhibition at Celtic Manor in Newport. This year, we are bringing our brand new, innovative solar-powered road safety equipment; the Solar LUA, Solar Pulsa and Solar Pulsa 4×4. We will also be showcasing our solar-powered Belisha beacon, Solabel.

Introducing our brand new range of solar-powered road safety equipment

Solabel

As a solar-powered pedestrian crossing beacon, our Solabel is a unique product in the world of traffic safety. Designed to help pedestrians safely cross the road, the solar element of this product has a low visual impact design, making it aesthetically pleasing (so as to blend in amongst urban environments) as well as ensuring the solar panel does not interfere with the beacon’s main functions.

During the design process, it was also key to review the impact resistance of the solar panel to ensure durability. Testing confirmed an impact rating of IK10.

A cost-efficient, environmentally-friendly product, the Solabel has a significant impact on carbon reduction when compared to a typical mains-powered beacon. Twenty of these regular units are likely to produce 10.6 tonnes of CO2 over 10 years – to put that into perspective, a typical passenger vehicle emits approximately 4.6 metric tons of CO2 per year.

Solar LUA

Our LUA sign light has been installed on UK roads for over 20 years and this latest solar upgrade is designed to deliver excellent performance, with minimal environmental impact.

Our brand new Solar LUA is a thoroughly-tested, solar-powered sign light for illuminating signs up to 600mm. Designed for reliable off-grid installation, the Solar LUA features a low impact design solar panel, advanced technology batteries and a low energy LED light engine for dusk to dawn operation all year round.

Solar Pulsa & Pulsa 4×4

Our range of Pulsa school patrol warning lights are designed to make our routes to and from schools safer for everyone. As a partner with Sustrans, we are always looking to develop new initiatives to help our future generations and our Solar Pulsa and Solar Pulsa 4×4 will ensure maximum safety, with a low carbon footprint.
