Introducing our new Production Manager

We are delighted to introduce another new member of our team – please join us in welcoming our new Production Manager, Paul Cooper.

Bringing more than a decade’s experience of working on the shop floor in a variety of roles for manufacturers, targeting industries that include food packaging, gas and oil and pharmaceutical, Paul has hit the ground running.

One of his first priorities was to identify why a key machine had stopped working. Within a few hours, he had identified the problems, initiated the repairs and got the equipment back up and running.

I need to make sure our daily targets are met and production is not interrupted, or if it is, then downtime is minimal. I do enjoy discovering what’s gone wrong with equipment and then getting it up and running again. It’s very satisfying” explains Paul.

As Production Manager reporting to our Managing Director, Mark Booth, Paul’s other responsibilities include monitoring and checking the workloads of both teams and individuals, planning and initiating maintenance, testing and repair schedules as well as working closely with the customer service team to meet sales targets and specific delivery dates.

It’s a very busy role – there’s always plenty going on”, added Paul. “Three audits in a week was a challenge but it’s all part of the job. It keeps me on my toes.

Mark Booth said: “Production Manager is a key role for Simmonsigns and we need someone with plenty of energy who isn’t afraid of difficult tasks as there is a lot going on which changes by the hour sometimes. It’s great to have Paul on board, playing a pivotal role in the Simmonsigns team.
