“Established in 1985, Simmonsigns has a proven track record of independent manufacturing and developing high quality road safety equipment in the UK.

As our business continues to grow, we have continually reinvested in our ability to manufacture, not only existing products, but also new products such as our Modustar Beacon with its additional LED conspicuity lighting and our VAS Speed Indicator Device. 

As part of this policy, we invested over £250,000 in a state-of-the-art rotational-moulding machine which was commissioned throughout last year and is now in full production, culminating in a transfer of some existing and all externally sourced products onto that line. This has given a range of benefits, including improved quality, control of lead times and, of course, productivity.

We now have better control of our supply chain and are even more self reliant.

Our strategy is to refurbish our existing moulding machinery and so we have invested a further £50,000 in renewing all electronic controls, replacing contacts and gear drivers to ensure it continues to provide excellent service in the years to come.

This strategy demonstrates our long term commitment and gives us greater flexibility and control of our business. We have a long term vision and this will see us beyond the short term challenges that we all face right now.

During this difficult time, our business has benefited from incredible support from our customers placing regular and scheme-based orders and often paying invoices far faster than contract. We are grateful to our suppliers, the majority of whom stayed open to help us support our customers in delivering safety equipment. We are also appreciative of our employees, who have shown dedication and confidence in their diligent work for the business, onsite and off.
