Objectives
- A completely new installation of four pedestrian crossings was required, using eight Modustar Belisha beacons
- To provide local residents with a defined safe crossing route on any of the four approaches to the busy Woodstock Road Island
- The aim was to increase visibility of the crossings
- Also, to encourage vehicles to slow down fully when approaching the island
- The beacons are an extra precaution as two of the approaches are at the end of a long downhill stretch of road
- As part of a road safety improvement scheme, Norfolk County Council specified our Modustar Belisha beacons (with full shrouds) as the most suitable product to achieve these goals
