Norfolk’s Woodstock Road Island Modustar Belisha Beacon Installation

Objectives

  • A completely new installation of four pedestrian crossings was required, using eight Modustar Belisha beacons
  • To provide local residents with a defined safe crossing route on any of the four approaches to the busy Woodstock Road Island
  • The aim was to increase visibility of the crossings
  • Also, to encourage vehicles to slow down fully when approaching the island
  • The beacons are an extra precaution as two of the approaches are at the end of a long downhill stretch of road
  • As part of a road safety improvement scheme, Norfolk County Council specified our Modustar Belisha beacons (with full shrouds) as the most suitable product to achieve these goals

Feedback

The Simmonsigns Modustar Belisha beacons were easy to install and provided greatly increased visibility to these busy crossings during both daytime and at night. We will be putting them forward again for the next scheme.
