Kent County Council had identified a very busy and problematic roundabout at Dartford in Kent that was subject to collision damage, ongoing repairs and which required improved signage and visibility.
Our Insight Chevron was selected as an excellent solution for this location; the measurements and graphics were adapted and designed with input from the customer to meet their needs. The reboundable chevron system is designed to return to its original position following impact. Retro-reflective graphics meet the requirements of BS 8408:2005 ensuring the UV stabilised polymer blades are highly visible. The Insight system can be used for roundabout installations, tight bends and road deviations. It can also be reversed mounted to become a height restriction warning system.
Helen Cobby of Kent County Council commented, "We contacted Simmonsigns as we wanted to discuss a solution for the chevrons on the roundabout. They were being significantly damaged on a regular basis, resulting in considerable ongoing maintenance costs. We needed a system that was visible much sooner, functional and cost-effective. The Insight met these criteria - we are happy with the finished installation and the service from Simmonsigns."
