Solabel – A Solar-Powered Belisha Beacon
Having recently written about when we installed a different pedestrian crossing product in the London Borough of Haringey, we wanted to focus on other products within that range.
All our pedestrian crossing products are specifically designed to increase visibility of these vulnerable areas of our roads. One which is particularly effective this time of year is our Solabel Belisha beacon.
Why choose the Solabel?
As indicated by its name, the Solabel is our solar-powered Belisha beacon. Using a low-impact design and non-intrusive solar panel, the beacon is thoroughly tested and is free of any cable network requirement. This means it is designed for reliable off-grid installation and its low energy LED beacon light engine makes it a cost-effective solution. Finally, with focus on our environmental impact, we designed the Solabel to use natural energy, making it one of our most eco-friendly products.
Our Solabel in the field
Since its introduction, we have installed this solar-powered Belisha beacon across various sites nationwide. One installation took place at a busy pedestrian crossing that serves the international passenger terminal for ferry crossings in North Shields. Another can be found at an ASOS Distribution Hub where it was commented that the Solabel “offered a solution which was a sustainable alternative to the conventional Belisha beacons on the market”.
We are extremely proud of all the solar-powered products within our range and now is the perfect time of year to consider investing in these more sustainable, cost-effective and eco-friendly road safety products.
